I was planning on using a quarantine tank 40B for a new group of 8 ea. 3.5" juvies. As I was reading the beginners guide I noted that it recommends using a 55G. I don't have this size tank and my fish are scheduled to arrive Friday after being shipped across the country to Washington State from Hans. The following are my options that I can think of;

1. Use the 40B tank as is setup for them already; setup has cycled nicely, water is perfect, pH a stable 7.0, TDS 193, temperature 86F, bare bottom, foam air filter and a HOB sized for a 50g (200 GPH). OR

2. Put them into my well established 150 Show tank which is planned to be their permanent home after quarantine and is also setup for them with great water and temperature a steady 86F and stable pH of 7.2, TDS 112 ppm. Tank is also a planted community tank with about 2 dozen tetras (cardinals & pristillas), 2 corys, 2 plecos, and a rather medium sized Ghost Knife Fish. This tank is outfitted with two heaters each sized for a 75g, 2 ea. Fluval C4 HOB filters, a API FilStar XP-L Canister Filter size for a 175 (350 GPH), and an air bubble wall.

Am requesting some thoughts and wise council from those who are way smarter than I about such decisions. Thank you in advance for your help.

Mike the 40 will be fine for fish of that size. Just stay on top of water changes, particularly during the first couple of weeks.
