I like how the right side of the tank is but am going to move plants around on the right side. The tank is lo tech right now it just has 2 30w fluorescents that came with it I'm going to upgrade those to something with a better spectrum as soon as I have the funds. I'm pretty new to heavily planted tanks any advice would be great. Are there any mosses or ferns that I could attach to the driftwood that do good in low light. I just used ferts for the first time this week. I went with root tabs. My source water has high nitrates around 20-25 I think this would be good for the plants.

not so much of a suggestion about scaping but I would add a plain background to cover some of the clutter behind the tank.

That's a good idea the clutter is a bit of an eye sore.

I noticed a pair of Angelfish. How are they getting along with the Discus? I know the combination can be a bit difficult.

The angels are doing good half the discus were in there first and the angels were only about 3/4" when I got them they been in there two months without any problems so far. They are growing very fast. They at about three inches now. Hopefully they keep getting along. If not I have an empty 37. I really like the yellow one so hopefully they keep getting along.

I'm just starting out with discus, so I'm kinda light in the aquascaping for a discus tank knowledge, but, I did notice in your first post that you stated your source water has a nitrate reading of 20 - 25 that I think might pose some issues, yes the plants might like it but not sure about the discus long term

They have been doing fine so far except for one. I think it has a bacterial gill infection. I'm building a refugium sump hopefully that and the plants will help drop nitrate level. I m doing water changes almost every day now. I think once the refugium is running and the plants fill in more il drop the waterchanges to once or twice a week. I'm new to the hobby also have had the discus about 4 months now. Kind of experimenting and seeing what works. I've gotten a lot of great info from this forum.

Any ideas for a background. The tank is close to the wall I don't have room to paint or glue anything unless I drain the tank down and move it. I was thinking a light colored fabric. I saw a post on here a while ago where someone had a towel behind there tank and it didn't look bad. Anyone try anything like that. I was think something textured like felt in a light green or light tan. I have a lot of pigeons the brighter the better.

That looks great. Looks like real rock. I might have to try that in the future. I think I'm gonna have to drain my tank down and move it a few more inches from the wall. I don't even think the over flow box for my sump will fit where it is now I only left enough room for the hoses for my canister filters when I set it up.
