Guys, what would be the offspring if a cross an albino WB to an albino platinum/bd?

Thanks,

Assuming the white butterfly does not carry the recessive blue diamond gene...then the result will be 100% albino white butterfly.

Rod if you bred the babies back to each other what would the Albino White Butterfly BD look like?

What would the non albino form look like?

Hi Ryan,

The fry would be split into 4 genotypes in the 2nd generation, though phenotypically it will appear there is only 2 types. The main type will look albino wb, and a smaller percentage will look like albino bd. These 2 groups will then be further divided into those that carry the pigeon gene and those that do not, and this is where it starts getting messy! Many of the awb will actually be albino turquoise genetically, as the F1's were heterozygous for the gene that controls the pigeons. Likewise the abd, many will actually be abdpb (albino mercury maybe). The problem with these is the only way to tell is by breeding experiments, to sort them into proper order for onbreeding and purification.

Non albino forms would look like bd, mercury, white butterfly and turquoise. But of course these discus are pure albino, and would have to cross with a non albino for that to ever happen!

HTH
