When I inquired about purchasing some of their Curipera Cross from this past shipment, they ensured me I would get a unique/different and interesting fish... They didn't warn me I would be obsessed with this fish and stare at them all day long getting no work done!! Hahaha!!

As you can probably, already tell, or at least I hope so, I am being a sarcastic SOB and love the girls of Chicago (as I call them) for all their help, advice and of course amazing stock for sale!

I am beyond happy and in love with my purchase of these 2 truly intriguing fish! I literally do just stare at them all day long as they have some interesting behaviors and amazing ever changing colors. I never saw a fish who changed color by the second, it really is impressive. I am still waiting patiently for them to color and I might be waiting for quite some time, but from what I have seen it will be worth the wait! It has been fun connecting with other owners of this cross and getting info, feedback and opinions. Even from Lawrence himself!!

We truly are lucky to have the opportunity to deal with such amazing sponsors here on simply! I always loved the aquarium hobby, but it wasn't until I found simply that the hobby became more of a family full of friendly, knowledgeable and helpful people who are always there to assist, chime in and provide the best advice you will ever find! Miranda must think I am such a thorn in her side yet she would never tell you that or you would never know based on her quick replies and friendly demeanor. She always answers all of my silly questions quickly and with her charm and wit. And boy do I have a lot of questions! Especially when I am making a purchase. If you ask me they don't charge enough for having to deal with annoying folks like myself haha!! But that is only because I want to learn and want the best and Chicago Discus provides just that!!

So again, I salute the girls of Chicago for another amazing delivery and I highly recommend anyone who is looking for the most stunning fish to head to their site and order today!!!

After getting over the initial shock of the title (good one Phil!), I began to realize just how valuable and appreciated the SD forum and our customer service are. You are never a "thorn in my side" and I am always glad to answer questions and discuss issues with you. Your bought some amazing discus from us (Curipera Cross), and I want you to be successful with them. So please, there are no silly questions (just silly answers). Thanks for your loyalty to Chicago Discus!

Sorry I am the worst with pictures but I figured I would give you guys something. One has colored up so nice the other still seems a tad stressed and shows the bars more. The colored one tends to chase the other but the leopards have been sticking up for it so we'll see. These fish really do change on a blink.

Here is a tank update. I took a few new pics and am just loving this tank. I still need help with pics. They really do not seem to like the LED lights. Any advice to adjust them to that? They are in my office so they get flu recent bulb light all day mostly and off at night the sun sets naturally and it's dark.

I try to put the lights on but they hide or seem to get skittish. Do I slowly have to adjust them to it little
By little ?

Hi Phil, The discus are looking very good! Thanks for posting the update. The only thing that I can think of that would make them skittish when you turn on the LEDs are the reflections. When the LEDs are off, they can see through the glass and they are OK. With the LEDs on, the glass acts as a mirror and they see reflections that they think are other fish coming at them. If you paint or cover the back and sides with a light color background, it will eliminate the reflections and they will be more relaxed with the LEDs on.... Miranda
