So my discus has been growing white spots on them and their fins are all of a sudden breaking.

Some medicine I gave it were PraziPro which I gave it 1 week ago. I also gave it some Liquid Super Ick Cure around 2 days ago. The other medicine that I gave it was Melafix which I gave it 1 day ago.
I don't know what to do no more 1 of them already died from this.

Ph LEVEL- 6.37
PPM- 500
uQ- 848
Temp- 84 F
Fish Tank Size- 65 gallons (Change around 1+ gallon every 2 day) Tank has been running for 3 months plus cleaned filter every week and we have around 15 discus in the tank

The tool I'm using to measure that is this HI98129 pH/Conductivity/TDS Tester
I have no clue what PPM and uQ is all I know is what PH does.

Am I reading that right? You are changing roughly 1 gallon of water every two days? If so you are simple killing your fish with meds and bad water.

Well I just started to change the water when their symptoms of that started to appear.

Do you know what I should do?

First step is you need to start changing about 50% - 75% of the water a day. Once you do that for a couple of weeks let me know how they are doing.

John,
This has moved beyond water changes.. :( agree more are needed...but the fish now have an established bacterial infection. The tail and fin erosion plus patchy white is a sign of major issues there, imo.

I would suggest some serious water changes and an antibiotic Like furan 2.

I understand what you are saying but until the WC's get dramatically increases it will do no good to treat at all.

John, We will have to disagree. Clean water can only do so much. This members fish need more than several weeks of water changes. I agree that they are a must here, and the lack of them probably caused this. Good water quality will often prevent this kind of infection from happening... but doings water changes for a couple of weeks alone is most likely not going to help at this point. Its not going to turn around fish that have already had their immune systems compromised like this.Once a bacterial infection is established and systemic like this. These fish have gone beyond that, imo.

I think in reality we agree it is just a red neck talking to a yankee kind of miscommunication. A horse before the cart kind of dilemma as it were. He has already been throwing meds at them so I simple think think a little break from meds might be in order but in reality we are splinting hairs.

If I thought these fish had the time, we wouldn't need to split hairs on this one...I'd be all for trying some good old fashion water changes if the fish were a little off.... But the OP has already lost one, and has 15 discus in 65 gallon tank and they aren't looking so hot. They have fin rot, external bacterial infections, clamped fins and are listless. That tanks crashing.

Nexo,
I really need the questionaire filled out. Its important to know whats going on in the tank. I'd also like to see a picture of the whole tank so I can gauge how bad off they all are.

Thanks,
al
