Be careful with drilling. On reef tank forum they claim these are super easy to Crack when drilling. Not saying not to buy, just take extra time and precautions

No reason to shoot anybody. I just bought German Rams there for about $5 each. Half the price of the lfs down the street.

Note: I'd recommend placing the words $1 per gallon sale in the title of this thread as well.

Bought 3 20Ls and 1 10 with the sales. Two 20Ls were purchased a few months back on the previous $1 gallon sale. On Monday, I picked up 1 more 20L and a 10. Either the 10 or the 20 will become a smallish wet/dry filter and the 2 20Ls will be part of a mini rack. Originally, I was hoping to use a 15L for the sump with my 2 20Ls.... to make fitting a few things easier... I even posted questions about it in another thread. Maybe the 10 will be enough... If not, I will use the 3rd 20L as a sump... and then the 10L could be a off-line hospital tank, quarantine tank, pair tank, etc.... Yeah, it's occured to me that I could go 3 20Ls w/ the 10 as the central filter, but I think I'd be pushing too much load on it... and I'd have a pretty talk rack.

Obviously not for Discus or Angelfish, but rather small dwarf cichlids... some plants.. some shrimps.. Not a bad way to spend $70. (Yeah, it's only $70... I've horded all of the necessary other pieces over time for my slow re-entry into the hobby.) I'm in the desert and want to keep wáter changes to a minimal..

Peter, I was struck by your signature line: what a drag. Un hombre dividido en dos! Ha! Reminds me of the song: I left my heart . . . in San Francisco . . . which is where I'm from originally.

Do they ever offer larger tanks for 1.00 per gallon?? I need a new 90 gallon, but don't want the scratches that I would find on a used tank....Kris

No. My guess is that anything over 55 gallons uses thicker glass, and therefore the price goes up.

It's also not very common for places like Petco to stock anything over 55. I was told if I wanted 75s they could special order them for pickup. Now I just go to the mom and pop places for larger tanks.

I think 55 is as large as they go with the sale.

Yea, I bought a 40b last year during the sale that I am using as a QT/grow out tank for some Rams and L183 plecos. I'm gonna buy a 55 this year to make a sump. Just trying to figure out how to sneak it into the shed without the wife noticing. :D

Peter... Un hombre dividido en dos!

Indeed. This fall, we took the decisión to return to the USA, purchase a home in the warm southwest, and move our parents out of the cold northeast so that we could take care of them. We had brought them to Mexico a few times in the Winter, but noted their lack of spanish and advancing years was really making them uncomfortable. It's a new phase of our lives and we are enjoying it. Still close enough to the border to get to the beaches of SanCarlos/Guaymas and the mountains of Alamos when we get the itch.

Back on topic..... the last 20 long and 10 would have been easy to hide... but I don't have the spine for deception and fessed up right away.. LOL. My wife is having flash backs of Pete's Skanky Basement O' Fish.

The Petco in Sahuarita had a TON of 40 breeders at $40.
