That is also what I have heard Christopher. I know Bill sold (might still?) some and I always wanted to try it.

Yes, I bought this one from Bill. You should try it once your set up is finished

Chris, I intent to try the pond bomb in the 180 when I get my leak testing done. Let me know how it works for you.

I will Pat. It's rated for 5,000 gallons if I remember correctly. I just thru the whole ball in the tank. Lol

Phil, it helps to jump start your beneficial bacteria when cycling a tank.

Pat, Ricardo. How would I know if my heaters are calibrated ? I'm now trying to get my temp up to 84f. One stays on longer than the other.

Without a heater controller you are going to be playing the fiddling game. The best way I have found is to calibrate each heater in a 10g tank and hopefully when they run together they turn on at the same time. Rarely happens. Invest in a heater controller and you no longer have to worry about it :)

Will I be able to plug in both heaters or do I need two separate controllers ?

Both heaters. Check out my 75g build thread in my sig, on the last page I believe I have pics of it being put together.

Is there a step by step schematic ? I've never done something like this. For me it would to be called temperature controller build for dummies. Lol

I found the step by step on how to build it. It looks real easy to build , until I read the calibration part.

I have 3 separate digital thermometers to see if I can get a range of agreement somewhere. =)

The way Rick laid it out it really is super easy. This coming from someone who doesn't know much about electrical work
