Grow out tank questions

I am going to use a 60 gallon reef ready tank as a grow out tank.
I have a wet dry I was thinking of using for it.
Would the wet dry be good enough for about 8 discus?
Or would I be better off doing fluidized bed for this tank?
No matter what the filter will be in the sump.
I pan on doing average everyother day 25% water changes in this tank so it is going to be bare bottom with perhaps some drift wood in it

May be 75% every other day? The more the better, 25% every other day is not enough imo, I do 80% every other day with my adult tank.

As for the filter, as long as you keep up with water change, I dont really think it matters.

I have found that for growouts wc's are more inportant than the filters that you chose to use. I would say 50% a day.
