Beef Heart mix/And Blue Diamonds

What is the secret to keeping it from breaking up and making a big mess I have made it with gelatin and without still a big mess I feed 4x I have 6 jv in a 90 gallon tank They fight all the time over the food. Also this is real strange I have 2 blue diamonds that have paired off and are trying to spawn they are 4 inches is this normal I need some help.

Beefheart is a little messing but I do not have huge problems with mine breaking up like some folks do. My recipe is post on the forum. If they are spawning at 4 inches then they are at least 9 months old.
