So my Super Red Rose laid eggs on the glass in the aquarium. As she was doing it, my Tiger Turq, the dominant female in the tank, came over and started eating them all off the glass.
Is this normal? I've never done much research into breeding and don't really have too much interest in taking care of fry, at this point. I was just curious if that is normal behavior in a tank of multiple discus.

Thanks!

Thanks John. Is that a control/dominance thing, or they just taste good?

Hi,

They just considered it as food and clean up... This is always happening in the community tank.

Lots of reasons for it. Young fish, hormones not quite right, fish not quite as healthy as we would like, you name it and it could be the reason. I would not worry about it.

Yes, completely normal. To other fish this is just free caviar and food. They don't see it as cannibalism.
