We are growing out five week old Penang fry. Right now they are in a 20 gallon tank. They are getting to be about 3/4 of an inch to an inch big. We're worried that they might be getting crowded, as there are about 40-45 of them.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Do you have a larger tank lying around or will you have to go out and get one?

We have a couple of 40s that we've yet to set up.

You can use that rather than what you are currently using but you will want a 55-75g soon, depending on when you plan to start selling them off.

Vary nice Kathy.
I agree with Ricardo that you will be needing another larger tank very soon. Although IMO it's best to crowd fry which appears to help during feeding and achieving uniform growth size...there is always a time which is soon in your case to move them. In the meantime 2 or 3 80% to 100% w/c's is recommended daily until your set-up with another tank.

Thanks, guys. Really appreciate the feedback and suggestions--

It's really nice to be having to consider this move!!!

Ralph-- We're currently doing a flow-through of about 150% w/c every 24 hours. It's an insane amount of BBS that we're feeding them and they're eating, in addition to BH so it's almost a constant job to vacuum stuff out if you know what I mean.

Thanks again.
