I have some spider wood but im thinking of trying something new any suggestions?

You can get some very unique pieces of Spider wood but the only issues I see is food particles getting lodged in the small crevasses and will make it difficult to remove and rot.
The only other option is to pull wood out every w/c and rinse.

I like Malaysian Redwood. It's massive and really makes a statement. Scoot it over to vaccuum and scoot it back.89518

That is one great piece Rob....I have a number of them for my plecos but clearly not that large.
Another suggestion widely used by a number of Discus hobbyist is Manzanita Driftwood. These pieces come in a variety of shapes and sized and do offer a great look for any aquarium.
