Hi,

I will have a 40G tank where I would like to place 5 discus that I will feed with beefheart. I plan on changing 90% everyday.
I would like to have sponge filters. I am thinking of placing two of them but if you recommend more, please let me know.
Can you recommend me a brand + model as well as an air pump? I want to make sure the one I plug in is strong enough. I have the Tetra air whisiper 40G but I doubt it will be enough if I split it and put it for 2 sponges. Thoughts?

Thank you!

Although I have put together what your looking for from Kens Fish at a reasonable price suitable for your 40g tank.

Sponge filter this is the 40 but you can go with 2 of the 30

Air pump

Airline splitter / Gang valve

What size Discus are you planning to get because 40g should not be a permanent home for 5 Discus ?

Thanks Ralph. So if I understand well:

I can use just ONE deep blue 40?
I can use just ONE tetra whisiper 150?

It is actually a 70 G but I am planning on growing them so I will not fill it all the way. Thanks!

I would use the full 70 gallons, the more room the better for growth and it helps maintain better water quality.
