Two weeks ago I received six adult discus. Prior to shipping, the discus appeared to be in perfect health. Within 24 hours after arrival, three of the fish had developed cloudy eyes. I have been making daily water changes but the condition of the discus has remained the same. My ph, has been stable. Ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite have are within normal ranges. I purchased Furan-2 but I believe it is harmful to biological filters. I am reluctant therefore to use it. Looking for recommendations on how to deal with this issue.

Don't use the meds quite yet. How much water are you changing daily? You can add some salt to help as well. If you are chaning less than 50% of water daily, increase it to 75%.

Possibly just burn of some sort, ph or ammonia. Keep the water super clean and the eyes should recover.

I am limited to changing 25% of water a day. If I increase the amount of tap water added to the tank (240 gallons), my ph drops drastically (7.6 to 6.8). I'm assuming that the fish were injured during transport or when I transferred them into the aquarium.

That is quite a large tank. You should be fine with 25% daily. How stocked are you in that tank? Have a picture?

I can forward you a photo tomorrow. I have six 7" and two 6" discus. That's it.

That is quite understocked to the point where I think you will be fine with your 25% WC's. Other may think differently but I think you will be fine.
