Breeding discus not eating

I've got two pairs who have laid eggs and tend to their brood, but they don't eat! If the hatch doesn't take they lay another batch in a week (I am not interested in breeding as my water is not soft enough). Obviously they've got important things on their minds, but is it typical for breeders to not eat?

Yes, I have breeders won't eat for 3 weeks.

In all of the pairs that I have had I have only had one pair that would not eat. i don't know how many pairs I have had but a lot....lol
