Do any Discus owners use Leds as a lighting option ? set on low. I like the look of leds and would like to use them but just worry about them being too bright ?

There are LED lighting fixtures that have programmable intensity and full color spectrum control by remote controller. Here's one example:

These are fun to play with as it allows one to adjust the lighting from your easy chair.

Guess I didn't understand the context of your question, sorry about that. After looking at your link, I would have the same question that you do. LEDs are very efficient at creating light, and the fixture you are considering has the capability of putting out a huge amount of light. So I really can't help you much.

If you are a DIY type of guy, you might consider building your own. I did it and I'm very happy with the results:
