Hello everyone.
I'm new to discus fry raising and I noticed that my fry are growing at different rates.
I have 1 that is really small 2 inch (stunted I think), 4 that are 3.5 inch, 1 that is 4.5 inch no color yet and 1 that is 4 inch fins and a little of the body showing color. Is this normal?
I do water changes 3 times a week 75% and 2 times a week 25%. Would do more, but time restraints won't allow.

Are they all from the same source?
Are they all the same age?
Are they all the same kind?
How long have you had them and what size where they when you got them?

They are from the same spawn.
They were about 1 inch, I've had them for 3 months now.
Mom is red with white spots and dad is blue with black stripes. Not sure what's the actual name. Friends discus spawned and he didn't have the space for them.

Yes what you are seeing is fairly normal. It is probably because of the pecking order. The small fish is at the low end of the totem pole.

Should I separate the smaller one? I only have a 10g available. I can transfer him back when he gets a little bigger

I would not. This is how nature works. The weakest catch hell. That is how it is suppose to work. If you take it out then the next lowest one in the pecking order will also get stunted because it is noe the low man on the totem pole.
