Thanks Ron, shows what a year of acclimation does for these fish. Non yet but lots of increased pushing.

Let me apologize for the darkness of this video. Not sure you can really see the fish or not. Try to watch in HD.

OK, did another video and lighten up the tank. Video does not do the fish justice plus the tank is rather blah, needs a glass cleaning and new background.

Tank looks fine and the fish look great!!!! How long did it take them to color up?

Thanks Paul, they have been with me a year. They color up faster with soft acidic water.

Pat, windex and paper towels are on their way!!!

If you go to 1:25 on that video, you can basically tell anyone that you took this video under water in a River while on vacation!

On a serious note though, the tank looks great. It is hard to tell that you actually have a background on it, is it this dark in real life, or is the camera having a hard time capturing how it really looks?

Can we get a sump shot?

Ricardo, I can't get to the back of the tank to clean that. Wonder if I can angle the light a bit away from it. Drives me crazy that I can not reach it. As for the background it was originally in the tank but the panels bowed with time and would not remain in place. I removed the background and Tom mounted it on a board and it now rests behind the tank. Doesn't look near as good as it did inside the tank.

If you check out this thread there are sump and background pictures http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?89162-230-Gallon-In-the-Making-Biotype. Sump is nothing fancy nor is it very large. I did not use the bio-balls that came with it, choose to use foam instead.

darn, can't see the pics at work, but I have to have read that thread already, I just can't picture it in my head. Anyways, that's too bad about the background, but now it explains it a little more. Have you considered possibly moving it away from the tank a little and maybe adding a light back there to illuminating it? This may be totally a stupid idea, but just throwing it out there. You should contact universal rocks to see what they recommend.

Fish look amazing Pat,

I like the way the tank is uncrowded, its a 30 inch high tank right ? I really like it.

If it would be up to me I would just add another large piece of driftwood and some pothos plants making some roots at the surface.
I guess I already have a plan for my 150 :)

Always a pleasure to see your wilds Pat, Keep em coming :bounce:

Ricardo, I know what I want to do. Universal Rocks has quoted me a background like the one I am using in my other tanks. Installing it requires that I remove the fish, drain the tank so I can silicone the background to the back wall of the tank. Something for the future.
