Years ago when I used to use 100% RO/DI water for my WCs, I always added Kent products (RO Right, Ph Stable, and Discus Essentials) but now I find they are very hard to find - had Kent gone out of business? I've found them all, but only in "smaller" sizes than I used to buy, while Seachem seems to be very popular on the forum nowadays and is available in any size you could want? What happened while I was away on sebatical? lol

Central Aquatics bought up a bunch of smaller entities, if I'm remembering right Kent was one of them. The last big container I bought came from PetCareRx.

Hey Wes, thanks for the links, but, they kind of prove my point. I used to buy Discus Essentials in 64oz size "bottles" and RO Right in 500gm jars. Biggest bottle of Essentials I've been able to find lately is the 16oz size for sale on Foster/Smith (bty BigAls has it on sale for $2 less) while the biggest RO Right in solid form is the 250gm - the liquid version is garbage from my experience. If in fact they were bought out like Keith believes, why would they discontinue the larger bulk sizes? Unless it's to make another product more attractive, I don't know?

CORRECTION - Just looked at my jars of RO Right and Ph Stable - they are both 1 kilo (2.2lbs) not 500gm. NOw the biggest that can be found is 250gm???

Check out the end of this thread for a cheap substitute for RO right. Foster's and Smiths recently have free shipping for 32 pounds of the calcium chloride that is needed for this DIY substitue for RO right.

Hey Alight, I actually saw that earlier but don't really want to get into mixing my own chemicals. I don't want to inhale them while I'm mixing and I doubt I could mix it as evenly as a manufacturer does. I prefer to spend a little more and just have to worry about measuring dosage and testing the water :)

but thanks for posting the link :)
