am I feeding enough?

My pair of Discus are always begging for food. Which ever side of the tank they last saw me is where they wait and keep watch. As soon as they see me they go crazy like they haven't ate. I'm feeding them the frozen beefheart cubes. I cut them in half and feed a half a cube 6x a day.

Do they gobble it all up quickly and look for more? If so you can def increase it but of course you want to adjust your WC accordingly and vac any left overs if need be. Especially w beef heart it can foul quickly and get the water pretty bad

Yeah, there isn't anything left when I fed half cube at a time. If I do whole cube they'll take 5m to completely eat.

If they eat a cube per feeding in 5 minutes then feed the whole cube and cut down the feeding to 3x per day.
To avoid unnecessary testing just keep up on w/c's.

Thats what I was doing. Was afraid of them eating too much at one time and having problems.

You can feed enough so that they finish in 15 minutes.
