I don't even know how to work my own Nikon. If I weren't so ignorant I'd take you up on the offer, Al. The pics you've posted are stunning.

Hi Liz,
Glad you like the pics.:) I think you could figure this camera out with a little coaching if you change your mind., its really an easy one.:)

I doubt it. I don't even know who to make aperture and speed work in conjunction with one an other with my own camera. No way I could tackle a new one. I wish I could but I can't. It would be too far over my head.

Liz, it has an auto mode so no problem :)

Count me in Al if the camera goes on another walk-a-bout.

Snapped a few pics with the camera...

I know this is a simple pic of a hummingbird feeder..but I like it. Sadly it has to come down now for the winter as our hummingbirds migrated south several moons ago.

We have some nice winter sunrises here in CT. My backyard can be a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise.

Feeling a bit on the worn out side lately I decided to take a half a vacation day and grabbed my camera gear. I headed to my favorite haunt, a State park near me. I don't like taking pictures there in the warm months because its way too crowded, but in the winter I have the place to myself. I took along the *ist as well as my other gear, hoping to shoot it and I did. I set it up with film era Tokina manual lens,AT-x 80-200 F 2.8 its a solid lens with Great optics. Some of the At-x lines were stellar and are in high demand still. Considered their "pro" line at the time. BTW.. This lens has a story.... Its supposed to be broken! I paid $15 shipping for itr from a guy on a photo forum that didn't want it and was giving it way because it wouldn't take good pics for him. He thought it has bad glass or something was out of wack. I like to tinker with lens so I took this to play with.. I was almost bummed when I shot it because its works fine!

Ah well... Itsn a great glass for me.:)

Today was a pretty cold gray day at the seashore. Cold enough to snow, which it did at point. There was not much for birds , though I did see a couple of our winter migrants ( more on that in another Thread) I managed to enjoy the day and solitude immensely.

Some pics with this old camera and the tokina lens that came out about the same time.

This is a Cooper's Hawk. I took a bunch of pics with my K-3 of it, but only had time to snap one shot with the *ist because a dog and its slave went running between the hawk and I spooking it.

This old camera never ceases to amaze me. It has a few quirks but it really a gem for its age.

Thanks Pat. That was the sun peaking thru the clouds, for about 20 mins, then it went back to sleep. lol.

That's a really cool effect and those clouds are to die for. Looks like you had a swell time this morning and the old gear served you really well. :)

Al.
Sorry I have been away from my computer awhile and did not see the new posts.( love the new side tidbits.)
I was not in last time. Not a great camera buff but would greatly appreciate a chance to do this.
I am still interested in the camera journey.
Would gladly start the new journey as I spend a lot of time in the woods during the winter and spring around here.
Thank You.
Tom.
You can send me a PM for address when you start the next series.
