I have a mated pair in a 40 breeder. Planted biotope with sand bottom. They've spawned twice recently but eggs were gone within 36 hours. They spawned again today, so far so good.

The only other fish in the tank are two small corys and two small brushy nose plecos. Could/would the corys or plecos be a danger to the eggs, would they eat them? The eggs disappear at night. Just wondering if the scavengers are doing it.

Thanks in advance

anything that can fit fry in their mouth (which is almost anything) will more than likely make a snack out of fry, lol.

When the lights go off the eggs will be gone. Cory's and pleco's love eggs. A breeding tank should have no other fish in it.

I did both: Removed the scavengers and am leaving moonlight led on at night. 48 hours and I still have full clutch of properly colored eggs. Should have some wigglers soon. Thanks again for the info everyone.
