Hello All,
This is my first post on discus. I am aquarium hobbyist for almost 7 years and had different fresh water fishes, also i had raised 15 angels in a non planted tank for about 2 1/2 years in a 55G tank.

Got my interest diverted towards discus and was reading a lot about discus for a year now and decided it is the time for me to get discus.

I had setup 120G planted tank about 1 1/2 months before and last week i put 12 nos 2.5" discus & 1 3" Fire red. I do see peppering on my 3" fire Red, i believe it is because of stress.

Thanks,
Sellappan. S

https://youtu.be/VXe3VKh7qF8 it is about an hour and half long but worth hours of information
P.S. A must read thread form the beginner section http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?86009-Beginner-s-Guide-to-Getting-Started-with-Discus
After this if you have questions feel free to post them and I sure someone will help you out.

Welcome sella.
Your fish are still too small for substrate planted tank.
You should have give them at least a 3-4 months in Barebottom tank before introducing them here .
Anyway if you choose to raise them here it would be very important to do daily complete substrate cleaning and glass wipeing followed by large Water changes >60%.
Otherwise they can end up sick , not eating or in best case only stunted(small and deformed).
Good luck with them.
