Does anything out there like this exist? Where we tally a hell of fame of posts/threads that are just great reads? Might be a fun experiment or things to vote and honor people for?

Just a thought if not even just a fun place to post threads for all to read. It came to kind as once in a blue you see this old thread resurected. Typically a newbie or someone fresh is searching and using the great feature here and digging up old threads and tossing a question out there. I love when this Happens as I've been here a few years but nothing like some of the OG's so it's cool to read that or if I stumble upon one as I search I try to breathe life into it.

Open to suggestions, the idea hit me a few days ago and I figure let me toss it out.

If his exists Alresdy and I didn't use the great search feature. I apologize.

Hi Phil,
It doesn't exist ....but it could:)

How about for now we use this thread...if you or anyone else finds one of those "Hall of Fame" worthy threads...put a link to it here in this thread. If we get enough of them I will make a sub board for them.

Thanks for the idea.

Al

Always happy to help and try to add to the fun around here...

Are you open to turning it into almost a real half of fame In a sense ? Maybe we put our heads together and come up with a criteria or something and like annual we have finalists and certian ones are indicted. I dunno thoughts. May be taking it too far but still just leaving it open.

The one post that really had me leaning towards this was recomended by my local pal and a guy I like to think of as a mentor, Rich T... So this would be my first link. A thread I have been saving and just dying to read start to finish and I finally did it...

I don't want this to become a place where everyone posts just any thread they should find interesting... Hence my feeling for criteria....

A thread such as this that's chock full of views, replies , pics and info: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?118945-I-Double-Dog-Dare-you&highlight=Wild+red

Or this mapet thread I love ...http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?115662-My-Small-Wild-Amazon&highlight=Mapet

Obviously the camera journey is an instant classic...

Hopefully you guys are sensing a theme or pattern...

John's beef heart thread is another people always refer to...

Pat has so many quality threads it's hard to even choose. ...

First wild spawn...http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?93579-Wild-Tefe-Spawn

An interesting pet...http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?87104-Black-Jack-s-Story-The-tale-of-a-Scalawag

There are so many excellent threads on this forum. I subscribe to a whole bunch of threads but I do remember many from Eddie that at the time I thought were the best informative threads ever. I will dig through my "vault" and post some links. I'll subscribe to this thread so I don't forget.

I would suggest that the Forum stickies get cleaned up, a lot of them lead to broken/outdated threads, and either sticky a new thread with a list of Hall of Fame threads, or sticky the individual threads themselves.

Great thread to start, Phil.
I think the first thread you linked in your post # 4 was one of, if not the best, thread to have been initiated here in years!
Thanks for posting it.

I'm kind of a retro newbie here, whatever that means, but I like the saying, ' your discus are talking to you, are you listening?' Second Hand Pat - you are a genius.
