What is the BEST live food you can grow YOURSELF for discus

Hey all,

I just saw a post about someone using red shrimp colony as a feeding source for discus.

Does anyone have experience growing their own live foods for their discus? Is it worth it? Any details on what you do or have heard is appreciated.

I feed my fish a beef heart mix but I also raise and feed white worms.
I think it is worth it and it promotes health and spawning.
