Anyone using a mag float for algae and if so how do the fish react? I'm sure I'll freak them out and am hesitant to even try it. Will they get used to it like everything else? Thanks

It works fine,I have not used it in a very long time as I do not have a planted tank any more. Once in a while Discus may get spooked if they are very close to it.

Just move slowly with it and they won't get too alarmed

I used a mag float when I had my Discus in a 110g tall which is 31 inches deep to get near the bottom edges...the rest was done by hand wipe. As Mike suggested, go slow and they will eventually get used to it as not posing a threat.

I have used it and discus were totally indifferent towards it .
I stop using it because they can trap fine sand on the brush , and cut the glass while brushing with sand.

Thanks all. I'm going to go slow with it during today's water change and see how it goes. I always used it, and that's the reason I bought it. Light from the window hits it on occasion and some algae is unavoidable. Keeps the hands out of the tank..

Gave it a go last night during a water change and it didn't go to bad. They were a little jumpy, but nothing that freaked me out. Thanks
