What is the expected life span of a discus fish?

And furthermore, the life expectancy of a wild caught fish that is 4-5" when bought. I'm thinking it takes a while for a wild caught fish to reach 5". How long can you expect to be buddies with your guys? In general, and also more specifically the wilds question. Peace to you and your fishies, BK
