So I'm looking at my options on craigslist for tanks and I'm trying to decide between two options. a 72"x18"x29" or 48"x24"x24" which would you rather have for an adult show tank? The 72" long by 29" high would give a lot of swim room but is the 18" enough for a big discus to turn around comfortably? The 29" deep tank might be a little tricky to reach the bottom of but not too bad. Which would you got for? For stocking, I'm thinking 6 adult discus and a big school of tetras.

the deeper the better.. height not as important. ie.. 55 gallon tank. .being the worst tank for discus.. IMO.. 12" deep is NOTHING. 75 g.. and 40b are nice 18" tanks..
larger is better too.. :)

good luck

A 48x24x24 would be a sweet tank. I prefer the wider option 24" (front to back) as Discus seem to be less spooked from objects passing by front of tank.
But also agree with Skip...as my 30" tall is also a pain to wipe the bottom.

So if I'm understanding you guys correctly we have two votes for the 48" long x 24" wide and 1 vote for the 72" long by 18" wide.

I'm not a fan of those picture window tanks, but some people like them. I would get the 48"24"24".

:bandana: Gotta go w/ the 72/18/29. Like the swim room. Turn around will be fine. "T"
