Willie, Chuck, and I went to the Chicago Discus open house this morning.

WOW! :bounce::bounce2:

Lots of tanks of beautiful discus! :grin:

Josie and Miranda's hatchery is modern and very clean. There are vases of fresh flowers throughout the hatchery. They have a refreshments table set up with food, including Italian cookies and Baklava. There's also wine, coffee, water, and pop.

Thank you Josie and Miranda for having the open house.

Here are some pictures from our visit this morning.

Sure wish I could have joined you.
Really wanted to meet both Josie & Miranda & see the entire set-up, so that I could speak first hand about it to those mid-northwestern folks that I will no doubt keep referring to them.

Where are the pics, Linda ?

You know, I'm not sure. There are a lot of nice albinos in their hatchery. I think Pigeon Albino? Josie or Miranda will have to clarify.

The first picture is of our Albino Red Pigeons. They are about 4" and very cute. The color in the picture is a bit off due to the Monster Ray lights that we use in our hatchery. I will post some pictures after NADA with a more natural lighting.... I was looking forward to meeting both of you, Paul and Pat. Sorry you could not be here.... Miranda

My visit to Josie and Miranda's was one of the highlights of my whole trip to Chicago! They also have 6 dogs, two beautiful Macaws, many turtles, a wonderful large reef tank, their huge puffer fish Yoda, lots of live plants indoors, and a fabulous garden outside. Yes, it was a great time we had there for an hour. I went with Arden, his wife Renee, Liz, Dottie and Jerry Baer. What a wonderful day. Thanks Josie and Miranda! Wish I had taken my camera.

I was thoroughly impressed with the setup, but more importantly I was so impressed with Josie and Mirandas dedication and work ethic. My goodness the amount of energy they put into it, I almost had to take a nap just thinking about it;)
Thanks for your hospitality!
