Hi All,
Does anyone use this bag for their media in a canister filter? http://www.kensfish.com/aquarium-supplies/filter-media/pura-medis-sock-with-closed-bottom-775-x-36.html. i now use a polyprop mosquito netting to hold the substrat in my eheim canister filters. i just happen to come across this bag and wanted to use it to replace the netting. any suggestions?

thanks,
Jim

I do my own nets by this or that PVC common use materials, but it would be nice if there was a specific product for this purpose.
Anyway I don't think that this bag would be match to fit my canister trays idealy. If I'm about to buy something for this purpose I would like to get a perfect fit mesh for my canister tray. Not a bag which will allow water bypass through my media .
BTW I use only Bio media in my canister ( matrix, siporax , fluval rings and LECA clay balls) along with a very thick filter floss prefilter wrap on my intake for a mechanical filtration.

I use the smaller Pura bags with the Velcro. I believe they are 6x10. They work great in my Rena XP3's for the Pura nitrate resin's and other small beaded type resin's. They last a long time and are not harmed by bleach.

:computer: I think that size (7.75x36) would be better in a sump set up. In both my XP4 & Eheim2075 I use this media bag - http://www.kensfish.com/aquarium-supplies/filter-media/seachem-the-bag.html . I have also used it in my AC500's now just sponges. "T"

Question....I just swapped out my G6 for an eheim pro 4+. Why do you need a bag to hold the substrat pro? Doesn't it just go directly into the media basket

You don't have to bag any media Ryan , you can just spill it in the tray. We use bags for our own convenience for easier and quicker bio- media rinsing while preforming canister clean up .
