this may seem like a dumb question but here goes....I am trading 2 fish for 2 different fish from a friend and am wondering how long they can be in the bag? I know that with shipping it is longer because they can and do add oxygen but I don't have oxygen so if I just fill to an inch or so above the fish and then can I use my air from my sponge filter pump to put oxygen in the bag? How long can they last in the bag? I need 2-3 hrs.

They will fine for 2-3 hrs with just regular air.

Or put them in a bucket. That's how I would do it.

thanks so much, I thought a bucket but I had heard they do better in a bag, I like the bucket idea. I can swirl the water to keep it arieated. trading 2 of my least fav for a proven bd pair. quarantine big time!!

I also meant to suggest a sml battery operated air pump. Mine cost me $13.49 @my lfs. Has been great so far.

If you use the bag instead of the bucket,it's better to add more air to the bag than water.About 2/3 air space and 1/3 water.
