Tank color

Has anyone tried to paint the back part of their tank with black and white for the bottom?
Im planning to paint my tank with these color combination..
By the way, it will be a bare bottom tank and inhabited by red cover discus.

Black/ dark background and especially dark bottom is avoided with discus because it affects their colouration and brightness , making them display darker colours.
I'm not sure how much will the black background affect red covers in particular , but I think it will affect them too.
