How fast Discus achieve sexual maturity ?

Hi

I got a month ago some stendker Discus from Discus Hans. And 3 from a LFS.

2 of the Stendker and 1 stendker with 1 LFS are paired.

They arrived as 4 " Discus to my tank a month ago. They have probably growth 1/2 " (???). And this is happening after just a month.

The below video at the 42 Seconds mark you will see the female placing 3 eggs over the black plastic of the overflow. Someone ate them immediately. They were white, no good.

I just would like to know if this can happen so young.

Females can spawn early, as young as six to eight months. I have seen them spawn at 4 - 4.5". The males usually take longer to become fertile.

FYI, if the eggs were eaten almost immediately and weren't fertilized by a male, they wouldn't change color. You won't know if they're good until several hours after spawning.
