Not sure,but I AM sure that poopoo in the sand will cause Neurosis to some here! Check out the Stendker website for colors of their Fire Red fish at different sizes,they have the pictures of them at various sizes and clearly shows how the color and markings change as the fish grows.My 4" Stendker fire red is not even all red yet,still a patch of cream color on the body.

I guess it all depends from the genetics and grade on the specific discus breed along with the good upkeep and effort from the keeper.
However its a nice video and even nicer tank and discus :) , so TFS with us .

Mine is still on the younger side and mostly orange, that's why I asked.

You can feed him Astaxantine foods or salmon to enchance red colouring .
And have patience until it matures .Thats the hardest part i think :)
