I've asked a version of this not long ago, but need the advice again. I've got a batch of I think conservatively 150, maybe 200 fry, not quite a month old, in a 55 gal. How long can I keep them there, assuming I do daily 95% water changes?

or

How many fry can I keep in a 55 to grow to say, 2.5"?

I think by 3" it would be a good time to go to a 75g

Thanks Ricardo. Are you saying I could raise the 150+ to almost 3" in the 55? Not too crowded?

Actually I take that back. I remember Al had his group of 1"ers in a 40g and it seemed crowded. I can only imagine a group of 150 in a 55g. That's a lot of discus. So, I'll recall my previous statement and say around 2" you should start considering a 75g

Remember, you can put 1" discus in a 75g. I put 25 in mine at 1" :)
