Hi, i have just started using clearmax filter media packs in my Fluval 306 External filter, i have just put them were the Carbon used to be.

The instructions say to replace every month, but i wondered if real life is this about right?

How often do you replace yours if you use them?

Regards

James

James would you care to provide a link or a picture of this product ?
I never used it but im curious about it and on google i saw three different product for this name . filter floss mesh , a reddish stones bio looking filtration and a phosphate removing clearmax.

Thanks James . So as i figured its a chemical adsorbent filter that traps Phosphate , No2 and No3 and its not rechargable but only replacable.
Than i guess its lifetime would be directly conditioned of the amount of bioload and organics in the water column and the best way to measure its exhaustion time would be to continiously measure Phosphates , No2 and No 3 presence in your water .
If they start raising , its time to change the media .
