"Hi, my name is Kenny and I'm a Discaholic... nice to have a place to come and talk. So many people out there just don't understand us" :):)

Btw, I'm not making fun of support groups here, I actually got sober 26 years ago:)

But seriously, I have had Discus on my mind too much lately. But this has helped me learn a great deal in a rather short time. Looking forward to completing my 'school' of Discus when my last 5 arrive in a few weeks, I'll then have 13.

Dr. Hans can write you a prescription for some red dragons which takes away the symptoms... temporarily:) Unfortunately they're still working on a cure.

Jenene , Jim Li and all the others .Thanks for your support ,group .
I already feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who suffers this condition . I hope that we can all overcome this problem of ours if we stick together and be supportive to each other . Lol :)

Harris , I think Kenny just gave you very good advice on how to quickly relief your pain .
But remember , do not overdose this medication , as it should be administered only in emergency cases .
You'll have to get to the core of the problem on your own and work this thing out by your self .
Remember , no one can help you , unless you find your path by your self . Take care buddy .
Lol :)

The real problem here Kenny is that you'll never get to complete "your school of Discus ". There will always be something that's missing " in your school of discus".
No one here amongst us , has succefully completed their " school of discus " through the years .

The faster you understand this and admit it to your self , the more success you'll have in overcoming the above shown condition . .LOL :)

No known effective treatment. Even after many years of enforced abstinence most subjects seem to relapse. :sorry:

Agree with this statement, once Discus are in your brain there's always the little one tapping on your shoulder to have a look-even if simply at LFS for food or supplies ;)

My discus and I have "quality time" during our daily wc. We talk, kid around a bit, and sometimes I yell at them for having a group poop as soon as I'm done. Those guys....

It would be terrible if your life only revolve around discus and not so much with other stuff....There's no known cure to it but learn how to balance to mitigate the syndrome...I know some people are hoarding so much fish but don't find the sense of purpose to it...

Its all about the personality traits Warblad , i agree .
Not just for this hobby or discus but for everything else in life . There will allways be Over- feeders, drinkers, ,workers, hoarders Etc.Etc

Seriously speaking, I can think of many other 'activities' that are a lot worse than a Discus hobby. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, womanizing, etc. Even an obsession with Discus is better than these other kind of destructive habits/addictions imo.

:) I mean how bad can a 'Discus obsession' really get?
