Hi Liz, while I do not use discus trace I read that it is a mineral supplement. If you are doing regular water changes this should not be needed if you are using tap water.

Discus trace is ussualy used by people who use 100 % RO water for their WCs for remineralization of the "dead" RO water . if you use tap in at least 20% of your RO mix minerals will be there from your tap.
