I am setting up a new tank, and need to cycle.
Some people do it for 8-10 weeks with dosing ammonia , but wouldn't it be much faster to get an aged sponge filter from reputable company and cycle instantly? For like $12 + 2 day shipping with heat pack ?

Albanets , the best and the safest way to skip the cycling is to buy/order a sponge right from the tank you purchase your fish from . Ask the seller if he is willing to sell you one , he will save you a lot of time and hastle .
I never heard of such reputable companies that sells cycled sponges for Aquarium. Can they guarantie that they are 100% pathogen free seeded sponges or something ? . Do you have any links from them ?
Just curious .
