I understand it can be a bad thing but like it in this image.

Pat theres actually filters in Photoshop and Gimp that allow you to add Flare and manipulate lighting effects.

Whats important isn't that lens flare is often thought of as a bad thing. Whats important is that you,The Photographer, likes the end result. Thats whats fun about a Hobby like photography. That photo would probably not be marketable.... but that you like is all that matters otherwise,IMO.

Thanks Al, I do like this image and think the flare and sunburst add a magical element to the image. :) One thing I do not like is the pine of the right. :(

I love the tranquillity of this picture Pat .
I wish I could "energize myself" to this place and moment of time while I drink my evening cup of coffee :) .

Pat, I liked the original pic more than the one without the pine. Couldn't you just crop a little on the left and a little on the right? The pine would be less distracting and you wouldn't loose that much on the other side.

I have to disagree with Al. I would buy a print of this and hang it on my wall. I have a wall that needs something large and beautiful. I find your picture to be peaceful and inspiring at the same time.

You guys rock. :D Liz, I will be happy to sent you a jpg of the image. No problem if you wish to have the original one or I can crop it slightly if you wish. My "price" is a small donation to Simply. :D
