Sorry admins, I don't know how to delete a previous thread I made so I made a new one.

I'm trying to figure out if my 2 discus are pairing up, sick or what not. I recently added a new discus in and they were fighting at first (pecking each other in the face) but now they've seem to calm down and both are always next to each other, the new one keeps twitching it's too and bottom find when the other one comes around and both have been pecking at the glass and tube of the filter in a certain corner of the tank. I'm hoping that someone can give some input if they're pairing or sick? I've read a bit about this and it seems as though there's a fine line between the two so I tried to record it.

Looks like they are love sick to me. Preparing an area to lay eggs by the looks of things.

Definitely good news! Now do I need to get a Cone for this process if they do plan to lay eggs? Seems like that part of the tank is terrible with the siphone of the filter being there lol

They will lay eggs on the glass, hoses, or any other flat surfaces, but l do highly recommend purchasing a cone which are designed for the purpose.
You can give something back to this forum by using their sponsors.
Even though l live in Australia, l purchased mine from Barb.

Here's her link.

I have the same question as the OP but in my case I have 2 fish that are always together and randomly do this "shiver" but I have also seen the other 2 discus in the same tank doing this so it's hard to tell what the cause is. One fish will sit in the corner away from the other 3 and still do the shiver. They are all still eating and look "normal".
