Bookstores, record stores, video stores, all relics of our past I guess.I was telling my nephew on Thanksgiving about "drive in" movie theaters, you should have seen the look of amusement on his face.

Can anyone recommend a good book? I have tons downloaded from Amazon but they are mostly full of outdated information and the information they do provide lacks depth :( I have read 9 books so far and I have learned more on this forum than I have in all the books combined. Its mostly repeated information. Kind of annoying.

There was this old drive in I used to go to as a kid. Someone recently fired it back up. Brings back memories driving by and seeing that huge movie screen playing

I think you've hit on why a forum like SD is successful. The information or knowledge-base is the result of shared experiences and conversations between members. This information evolves as new ideas are experimented with. Books can't keep up. The challenge becomes sorting out the good information.

So true......I pulled over while driving down to Baltimore with my son this summer (he's 12) to show him what a pay phone looks like......He couldn't believe that was our mode of communication while growing up.
