ocean clear canister filter

Any one here use them? I got a steal on one off craig's list. No pump but just the canister.

Thinking about incorporating it into my next setup.

I've never heard of them... is it a traditional canister ?

They work good for mechanical filters, just need a certain sized pump to push water through. Used to be standard equipment on large (>200 gal tanks). We used the little giant MD-series of pumps on a marine tank. Just have to be good about watching the pressure gauge to know when to change the filter out. We used to bleach the pleated elements then neutralize them over a week, the sun dry.
