Hi guys

Had a few batches off my pair of discus now the last batch around 20 of them are coming out white as she is laying them, she ate that batch of eggs now she is spawning today, i just had a quick look and a few of them are white as she is laying them again. Most of them are normal but im curious why some are pure white as if they are not fertile ? I cant tell if she is laying them while or if they are turning white after laying but they are less than 30mins old so too soon to tell if they are fertalized ?

Do the pure white eggs still have a chance of hatching if the male is doing his job correctly ?

Many thanks in advance.

The white eggs are the dead ones. You'll have to tell us how long this picture was taken after the spawn to answer the rest of your questions.

Hi Willie

She was still laying eggs while taking this picture.

The eggs that have been laid are around 20min - 40 mins of age.

I've had that happen before and could never figure out why. I guessed that the eggs died inside the female but don't know if I'm right.
