Hello I'm setting up a new fish tank I was wondering how many aquaclear 110s you would use on a 125 gallon tank I'm thinking I will have 9 discus in there around the 4 inch range and a few dozen tetras I was thinking on getting 3 or 4 aq 110s would that be to much filtration

Try two at first. That will just about double the flow rate of a 110 gal. tank;they are rated for 110 gal. tanks.Three will do it for sure.

if one dies ill always have a back up

I would also apply same concept for keeping 2 heaters........

I use a 110 on my 75 gallon. They are effective but a lot of wok to clean.

There's no such as too much filtration. Two is fine, three would be even better.

Plus they are the easiest filters to clean.
