Just thought I'd throw this tidbit out there...
I broke the ceramic shaft on an eheim submersible pump. It was an older 1050 model.
Looked online and could find a replacement shaft for a model that was close but they were $10.00 just for the shaft.
Went to the hobby store and picked up 1/8 solid brass rod. It fit but was just a tad snug. So I put it in a drill and sanded it a bit.
Put the bushings back on, put the pump together good as new.
Cost $1.88 and I have enough material for about a lifetime of shafts.
