Can anyone please tell me if I should be worried about this and what it is? I noticed it growing on the heater then found it growing on all of the canister filter media baskets. Thanks in advance!107414

Hard to tell from that picture, but google Staghorn algae and see if it's a fit.

Sorry was hard to get my camera to focus...The pictures of staghorn don't look like it. This looks like a vein or root pattern and is attached to a surface at all points. The algae pictures look more stringy and partly floating.

could it be a moss that somehow hitch hiked in your tank?? like java moss. java moss is really hard to kill based on my experience. I even took a piece of moss covered wood out of the water for like 3 months once, scrubbed it all off, then put it on the shelf for a while, and when I resubmerged it into a different tank, the moss started growing back

It def doesn't look like any moss I've seen. It's flat against the surface. I'm getting worried no one has seen this??

first thing to do is not worry, its nothing harmful to your fish. moss does start out flat against the surface it the object it attaches to then grows out from the attachment points. let it grow and see what it is.
