Aquarium Purchasing

Hello Everyone!

I've been lerking on the forums for the past couple of days/weeks and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to where I would be able to get cheap aquariums. I'm Looking for any size between 30-50G. I would also be willing to make my own providing I can find cheap enough acrylic.

It depends where you are, if in the U.S then look through Craig's List and keep an eye for Petsmart deals of aquarium for $1 per gallon!.If in Canada look through kijiji classifieds.

Hello, I believe it's Petco, not Petsmart, that has the $1/gallon sale (in MD at least). It used to be for tanks up to 55 gal but they included 75 gallon tanks the last time they had the sale.

PETCO usually has the $1/gal sale about every 6 months. They had one last fall and its getting close to the spring one.
I always pick up something on that sale, usually a QT or sump tank.

Cheapest deals are usually from local hobbyists getting out of the hobby or just downsizing. Is there a local club? Often, they have their own forums where these things are listed. Perfectly good tanks go for a song here in the Twin Cities, either at www.minnfish.com or at the quarterly auctions.
