What strain of discus is this based on?

It could be based off of some checkerboard type...?

You would see more rounded circular patterns more than the dashes seen on the toy. Are you looking for an orange fish with white markings?

Hi and welcome Aquaworld fan .
This is severely stunted , football shaped pigeon blood discus toy :) . He was kept under sub par conditions hence the poor baody shape and eye to body ratio .
You should consider different source for buying your discus ;)

and yes I know to get real fish :D
