acrylic[plexiglass] tank covers

I have been using plastic tank covers for a long time and I
was just wondering could they have some adverse effect, such as growth ect.,
on the fish, specifically, when the condensate drips back into the tank?

I've never heard of PVC leaching any pollutants in the water column or harming discus in anyway whatsoever. I've used thick plastic bags to cover QT tanks in the past with no I'll effects too.
